Most of the time I am the fixer/tinker in the house. Hubby is a hardworking provider so I started a couple years ago to fix things myself! He doesn't like to have to fix things around the house but for some strange reason I love to (It may be genetic, my dad is quite the fixer! I think I took after him!)! Don't get me wrong hubby will fix it or help me out but most of the time I like to do it myself!
Since the dryer went on strike and decided to stop heating this momma took matters into her own hands! After taking off the panel on the back of the dryer I took off the heating element and sure enough it has a broken coil! From the advice of my dad he said to make sure I check the fuses and thermostats to make sure they were still good. If they aren't good sometimes they can fry the heating element! After testing the fuses and thermostat with my multimeter this morning I can say I think they are good! So I am going to order a new heating element this morning so I can get the dryer fixed and maybe use it once in awhile! I'm starting to like line drying in the house! Of course hubby brought up a good whatif, what if we needed something dry right now or sooner then the line can dry!
Luckily the heating element ONLY cost $40! I can't image what it would of cost if I had to get a repairman! OR end up just buying a new dryer! YIKES! Once I get the heating element I'll have to show you how everything goes back together!
